KERALA FLOODS 2018
In July 2018, severe flooding affected Kerala state in India due to unusually high rainfall during the monsoon season. Kerala's worst floods in nearly a century, over 350 people died within a month, while at least 661,000 were displaced and all 14 districts of the state, were placed on high alert.
35 out of 42 dams in the state were opened for the first time in history and all five gates of the Idukki Dam were opened at the same time after a gap of 26 years.Heavy rains in Wayanad has left the hilly district isolated.

The Kerala government started a donation website for flood victims.Websites like Google, Facebook and e-commerce websites Amazon, Flipkart, BigBasket and Paytm are also providing a feature for donation for relief efforts
